ISU Boxing Club Rebrand
In my graphic design studio 3 class in the Fall of 2022, my instructor assigned us the task of making a rebrand for a real club on campus at Iowa State. I chose to rebrand the Boxing Club at Iowa State and I worked on this project with one of my classmates, Clay. For this project, we had to communicate with the President, Vice President, Coach, and other members of the club throughout the whole semester to make sure we created something the club would actually use. We started by creating a creative brief and interviewing the President and Vice President of the club to get a feel for what they wanted. From there we researched the club, made several different proposals, and then settled on a final route to go for the project. The rebrand included two typefaces made from scratch, a new logo, posters, social media post templates, patterns, mockups, two animations, and entire brand manual for the club. I have included the entire brand manual, rebrand poster, and the animations below. The club loved the rebrand and they are now using all of the designs and assets that we created for them. I had a lot of fun with this project and it was very cool to create something that is actually now being used in the real world. It was a very gratifying experience watching mine and Clay’s work be appreciated and utilized in the real world by the Boxing Club at Iowa State.
