Book Cover Designs
I made these book cover designs for a class project in the Spring of 2022. I read a short story titled Tower of Babylon by Ted Chiang. I was then assigned to create two different book covers as full spreads with the spine and back cover for the short story. The first book cover was to be designed through the use of symbol, in which we had to represent the meaning of the story symbolically through our covers. The symbol cover I created is the one you see above which symbolizes how the people tried to build their own world through the tower. Then we had to create a cover that showed the meaning of the story through index. This second cover represents index through a story told within the book. I learned a lot about representing a story through different modes of imagery during this project and was I very happy with how my designs ended up turning out.
