The Evolution of Kid Cudi |
Sequential Narrative Illustration

For this project I created a sequential narrative illustration of the evolution of musical artist Kid Cudi. I used 8 different panels in a comic-like format to layout the evolution of Kid Cudi and his career. Each panel represents a different album of his, except for the very first one which represents his very first single ever, Day ‘n’ Nite. The panels go in chronological order from the top left to the bottom right. I also added a subtle detail of the different facial expressions of the Kid Cudi character in each panel which reflect how he as a person was doing at that time. He has struggled with drug use, depression, and anxiety throughout his career, so the sad faces represent when he wasn’t doing so well, the happy faces represent when he was doing good, and the straight face represents when he was struggling with heavy drug use. This project was created entirely in Adobe Illustrator. I created this project in the Spring of 2022 and I enjoyed creating it a lot, as Kid Cudi is one of my favorite artists. I am very happy with how this project turned out.
